In this assignment student will choose a topic with a connection to life in New Zealand, it should draw on an aspect of the students own background. Students need to formulate their own key questions about the topic and find a range of relevant sources to help them answer their own questions. They will need to collate their findings and present them in the form of a written report.


The handout below clearly outlines the requirements of the unit and provides both worksheets and examples of work for students to review.

10F Static Images

Now that we have our essays out the way we are moving on to make static images for October Sky.

Students need to make an image that creates a message from the film.

In class we will study both verbal and visual techniques used in static images to create effect. In week 7 and 8 of term 3 the students will be given the oppurtunity to create their own image and write a short report on the techniques they have chosen to use and the effects that it has on the viewer.
